Amazon FireOS Limitations

There are currently some limitations. These are:

  1. Turning the TV on and off remotely using CEC: For Amazon FireTVs and Sticks/Android devices, the screen will turn black instead of turning on or off. However, for Amazon Signage Sticks, the Remote Device Management (RDM) is supported via CEC. If, for example, you set the content to “Turned Off”, the screen will actually turn off or go into standby mode.
  2. Fire TV – 3rd Gen (2017) –>NOT supported.
  3. Fire TV – 1st Gen (2014) –>NOT supported.
  4. Fire TV Stick 4K – 2nd Gen (2023) –> It does not automatically open the Yodeck app on bootup.
  5. YouTube Video/Audio live stream –>NOT supported.
  6. Vimeo Video/Audio live stream –>NOT supported.
  7. On Amazon FireOS players, webpages are always displayed above all other content in the same region. The layout’s layering order is ignored for webpages, and layering with other content is not supported. Effectively, webpages will always overlay any other media in that region.
