Create a SharePoint Playlist

SharePoint Playlist allows you to display images, videos, and documents directly from a SharePoint folder on your screens. Once your SharePoint account is linked, any updates you make inside the selected folder will automatically sync to your screens, no need to log into Yodeck or manually push changes. This makes content management simple, fast, and centralized.

  1. Click on the ‘Playlists’ tab in your Yodeck dashboard.
  2. You will now have the option to create a new playlist. Click on ‘Add Playlist’, then select ‘SharePoint’ as the playlist type.
  3. Click ‘Link your SharePoint Account’. A Microsoft login window will appear—sign in with your Business, Work, or School account and authorize Yodeck to access your SharePoint files.
  4. Once connected, browse and select your desired SharePoint site and then choose the folder you want to sync with your playlist. Finally, click ‘Add’ to complete the setup.

After creating your playlist, you can customize its settings:

  • Name: Give your playlist a clear and recognizable title.
  • Description: Add optional internal notes.
  • Add black gap between videos: Inserts a short pause between videos.
  • Enable Image Transitions: Adds smooth transitions between images.
  • Enable Random Playback: Shuffles the playback order.
  • Default Duration: Set how long images and documents are displayed.

Note: Preview is not available for SharePoint playlists.

To add content to your playlist, simply upload your media files (images, videos, or documents) directly into the selected SharePoint folder. Files will play in alphabetical order unless Random Playback is enabled.

Once your files are uploaded, no further action is required. The Yodeck Player will automatically sync and update your screens.

To remove content, delete the file from your SharePoint folder. The change will automatically reflect on your screens after the next sync cycle.

Note: Syncing occurs automatically and may take up to 5 minutes after the folder has been inactive.

To assign your SharePoint Playlist to a screen, you have two options:

Option 1:
Go to Playlists, click the three-dot menu next to your playlist, and select ‘Set to Screen’.

Option 2:
Navigate to Screens, select your desired screen, and under Screen Content, choose your SharePoint Playlist. Then select your preferred fitting option:

  • Fit: Maintains aspect ratio
  • Crop: Fills the screen but may cut edges
  • Stretch: Fills the screen and may distort content

Click ‘Save’ to apply your changes.

To assign the playlist to multiple screens, go to Screens, select multiple displays, click ‘Actions’, then ‘Edit’. Enable Screen Content, select your SharePoint Playlist, and save your changes.

To edit your SharePoint Playlist, go to Playlists, click the three-dot menu next to the playlist, select ‘Edit’, make your changes, and click ‘Save’.
